Their encounter after twenty years reveals different life choices and attitudes. A confrontation seems inevitable. The characters are around their forties; they used to attend the same class at secondary school. Their former classmates have experienced marriages, divorces and love affairs. Many of them have children. Some perhaps drink too much. Bogdan and Baśka achieved financial success, frustrated Michał is always fighting with his German wife, Marta lives in Italy as a successful opera singer etc.

Glasshouses is an intimate drama of a married couple who fell into a state of torpor. Their life is to change under the influence of a stranger‘s visit, who encourages the frustrated couple to speak out their complaints and sorrows which eventually brings their relationship to an end. Cyryl, a representative of political and intellectual opposition hides during the martial law in a ranger’s house in a forest. The hosts, Adam (a ranger) and Jaga (a village teacher of music) put him up very willingly.

The main character, a girl called Felicia, is fascinated by the Barbie doll. The story deals with relations between adults and children, suggesting that children should be treated as partners by adults, deserving respect and as much time and attention as they need.

The action of this contemporary drama touches the problem of jealousy and possible infidelity. There is a club of three ladies that suspect their partners of sleeping around. Thus, they make up a sort of theatre: they decide to stir up their partners’ jealousy by talking about their own love affairs. The wives leave all household chores on their husbands’ shoulders. Painfully hurt by the lack of clean shirts, the gentlemen try to get back their ladies’ hearts.
